I was honored with the opportunity of designing the invitation for the DSVC 2011 Dallas Show. One of the challenges I had to solve was finding a way to mail a 3-dimensional box which married in the Show's casino related theme. The process had to be fairly agile as I began without having confirmation about the type of cutting techniques that would be available to me.

Art direction, Design & Photography – Red Mountain Church's "This Breaks My Heart of Stone".

I had the privilege of working with a client who trusted my creative vision and let me run with it. Working from simply the title and a few clips of Red Mountain’s soulful style, I worked to create an image that matched this collection of ruggedly honest, yet deeply hopeful hymns. I improvised with the tight budget and shot my own photography to assemble a distinct design to create a unique voice to fit the music's arc.

Lake Of Stars branding campaign, an annual music festival held in Malawi, Africa. Lake of Stars exists to raise funding and awareness for UNICEF’s water-well project while stimulating tourism in the Malawi economy. Excited over the possibilities, I investigated strategies to boost funds year-round, through means such as music compilations to be sold online along with other merchandise to help promote awareness. These designs visually explore the collision of African landscape and lifestyle with the energy of electronic music.

A promotional poster for a film based on the Ang Li book, The Butcher’s Wife—an emotionally difficult novella about an abused, neglected asian woman. I took up the task of retelling this haunting story. Building from the pain, fear, and isolation of the story, I also took from the visual style of asian art. The illustrations were created by hand with pen & ink and I researched the language to write accurate chinese characters for the saking of maintaining authenticity.

For a short freelance project I took on before leaving Texas, I joined with my good friend and talented developer, Craig Smitham, to develop the website art direction and a fluid, expandable system.

Based off of existing brand design for the Viridian master-planned community, this website is skewed toward selling the general plans while the community is constructed. As the development of the property progresses, the website has plenty of space and a lasting framework to pass through new content as it comes in.

I was invited to contribute a design for a collection of shirts promoting blood donation to the American Red Cross. Here's what I created.

Young, quirky, and standing apart from the pack—Dog Point offers an incredibly fragrant and elegant taste. Taking advantage of full redesign of identity and product packaging, I stripped down the bottle to allow the wine itself room to breath and speak for itself. The promotional booklet educates potential customers about a country still growing in its global reputation, but already rooted and flourishing with mature taste and talent.

My assignment was to take that cheap dollar store brand "bag of toys" and give it a refresh. My goal was to create a bright, colorful package that serves as both a helpful storage container for parents' sanity as well as a simple and fun illustrative can for kids.

During an economic downturn, it can be especially difficult for a financial company to speak with optimism. Pulling from historical and relevant illustrations, the design reaches back to remind clients of the strength & optimism upon which our institutions were founded.
